Advertising Festival of The Alliance Française
The Alliance Française of Guatemala and the AGPG (National Association of Advertisers in Guatemala) made their 1st. Advertising Festival. The festival was inaugurated with an exhibition since may 5th. of this present year with a tribute to the poster named “What Would Lautrec could do with a Mac?”. Participants in this contest and tribute should be inspired by designers and artists of the twentieth century, including Toulouse-Lautrec , so they had to interpretate the poster of their election to re-design it with the tools and concepts of this present time.
My proposal is about a poster made by the englishman Edward Wadsworth in 1936. This event heralded the famous Lord Mayor’s Show, promoting the re-armament of England in that year.
La Alianza Francesa de Guatemala y la AGPG (Asociación General de Publicistas de Guatemala) se encargaron de realizar su 1er. Festival de Publicidad. Dicho festival se inaguró con una exposición desde el 5 de mayo del presente año 2010 con un homenaje al afiche llamado “¿Qué hubiera hecho Lautrec con una Mac?”. Los participantes de éste concurso y homenaje debían inspirarse en diseñadores y artistas del siglo XX, entre los cuales se encuentra Toulouse-Lautrec, y así tuvieron que interpretar un cartel o afiche seleccionado, y rediseñarlo según las herramientas y conceptos actuales.
Mi propuesta trata acerca de un afiche realizado por el inglés Edward Wadsworth en 1936. Este anunciaba el famoso evento “Lord Mayor’s Show”, que en ese año promocionaba el re-armamento de Inglaterra.
