Totus Tuus V.02

Second take on the Totus Tuus Worship Ministry logo design. Was commissioned to come up with two approaches, aiming for the Youth Catholic Church as main target.

The worship project is based on the act of Consecration to Mary, as a catholic lifestyle, developed and promoted by St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort. This, in turn, finds it’s expression through the Totus Tuus prayer, which in latin means “totally yours”, written by St. Maximilian Kolbe and recited by St. John Paul II as pontifical motto.

The second proposal was developed under the approach of living and loving through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. About the color selection, as in the first version, it’s defined from the early image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which focuses on the primary colours red, blue and yellow.

Currently both are under people’s choice through ministry’s Facebook page poll.

Totus Tuus V.01

Logo design for the Totus Tuus Worship Ministry from El Salvador, Central America. Was commissioned to come up with two approaches, aiming for youth Catholic Church as main target.

With the previous context, we developed the concept design for both approaches, having the first one as the consecration of the youth’s heart, in search for holiness. About the colour palette, it was defined according to the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which focuses on the primary colours red, blue and yellow.

Currently both are under people’s choice through ministry’s Facebook page poll.

## OAR Pres Cards So here’s more on the branding project I worked for the Province of Augustinian Recollects in Guatemala, Panama and Dominican Republic. These are the presentation cards for the friars in charge of PR at the vocational guidance fair. As well as it was for the logotype bundle, it’s a three variation series according to each nation’s stationery bundle. The purpose for these were that attendees would have direct access with friars to resolve subsequent doubts or follow up on any vocational process initiated within the fair.

OAR Province Logo

As part of the branding project I worked through Container Studio for the Catholic Church, within the Province of Augustinian Recollects in Guatemala, Panama and the Dominican Republic, this is the logotype design we pitched for the Order. It has three variations of implementation both for printed and digital stuff, according to each nation’s stationery bundle.

As well as for the series of graphics showned before, the logo concept was based on the search for truth, service in community and unreserved love for God charisma, which is St. Agustine’s fundamental. Colours and aesthetics are linked to the province’s cultural context, manifested through each nation flag colour palette, plus geographical location between oceans. Also, within the church mission context, it is associated into a sea exploring/navigation theme, which can be translated into being transformed in fishers of men (Mt 4:19).

Order of Augustinian Recollects

Last year I had the chance to work through Container Studio, for the branding and vocational campaign for the province of the Order of Augustinian Recollects of Guatemala, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

This series of graphics are part of what I developed to implement in printed pieces such as brochures, cards and posters, as well as for digital stuff in social media. The project’s concept was based purely on St. Augustine’s charism, which is the search for truth, the service in community, and the love for God without conditions translated into mission and works of charity.

Colours and aesthetics are linked to the cultural identity that’s manifested in each flag of the province’s nations. In addition, the search for truth and the church mission part was associated with the exploring, maps and wind rose theme.

Salmos

This is the first volume of the Salmos project, developed along with Athenas and Tobias Buteler for the catholic church. Both are having a breakthrough since their perfomance at the World Youth Day in Rio, Brasil in 2013. So nowadays, they’ve been stablished as a referent of the contemporary catholic music scene in latin america.

The project consists in a worship music series that corresponds to the current liturgical time. Within this first piece, you’ll be able to listen to this guys sing about the lent and easter C cicle psalms.

Inspired by the fundament of creation’s praise to it’s Creator, narrated along the Book of Psalms, we took the idea of portraying nature with epic landscape photography, as well as colour palette subtle variations to identify, differentiate and give a context to each volume of the series. In terms of graphic composition, typography and the whole aesthetic, the main idea was to send a solid and timeless message in a simple/clean way.

Last but not least, I couldn’t miss the million buck question: how I met this guys and how we started working together? It all started with a little Instagram chat. God is good. Much more on this project soon!

Run Wild

Working on my lettering skills for upcoming personal and commissioned projects. This is an experiment I did with face painting markers on heavy paper, in order to improve legibility with bold type and textures. Inspiration came from the soaring lyrics of Run Wild by the australian duo For King & Country.

A year ago, the folks at Design Happens showcased the sneak peek series from my Behance’s wips, as part of their illustration design showcase collection. This time, they made a feature publication about the 30-day drawing challenge I did to improve my lettering and drawing skills. So again, it’s an honor to be part of this awesome and inspiring creative collection. Thank y’all for the great support!

Gran Moyas

The guatemalan school Gran Moyas founded in 1991, aims to take a new direction for education based on catholic ethics such as faith, mercy and justice for the upcoming 2015.

As part of the school’s new management, I was commissioned to develop a logo design pitch that would be part of the new identity of Gran Moyas, as the center of catholic education in the country.

The graphic solution is based on what Gran Moyas proposed as spiritual, ethical and academic development in their student, taking the words of Jesus on the way, the truth and the life as biblical foundation (Jn 14:6).

The Design Inspiration is an online resource by designers for designers. It gathers a great collection of patterns, illustrations and logos that serve as source of inspiration and showcase for new talents. Last august my work was featured as part of their Logo Design collection, showcasing Café Creativo;a concept I designed for al little coffee shop for creatives. Thank God and the people of TDI for making me part of this high quality platform.
