Vector illustration dedicated to my dear friend Carolina Niño. Representing her personality and style as graphic a desginer.

Developed by my mate Luis Pinto, Gráfica Escrita is a collection of young guatemalan writers and illustrators, wich pretends to promote the art of our country through the writing and it’s graphic interpretation. I was in charge of illustrating “Minimalism” written by Tania Hernández.

Desarrollado por mi compañero de estudios Luis Pinto, Gráfica Escrita es un compendio de jóvenes escritores e ilustradores guatemaltecos que pretende promover el arte de nuestros país, a través de la escritura y su respectiva interpretación gráfica. A mi cargo quedó la ilustración del escrito “Minimalismo” por Tania Hernández.

“Espacios mágicos que se dilatan para contener sueños incontables, en los que es posible imaginar que la realidad ha muerto, o que, luego de rebasarla, la dejamos tan pero tan lejos que, por más que se alarguen los brazos, los dedos del recuerdo no son capaces de tocarla.

Puertas a mundos paralelos, en donde el “vos y yo” son tan posibles que asustan, porque el “vos y ella” y el “vos y él” se escuchan ya solo como un murmullo ajeno, como una historia que alguna vez se contó, pero hace mucho, mucho tiempo.Allí pululan los suspiros, los héroes encuentran hermosas villanas y las princesas vencen a pulso a sus brujos, porque en esos espacios la gente se convierte en otra, se transforma, se puede inventar una y otra vez. College project based on the second album of the guatemalan reggae band Iguanamanga. In this album called Imprevisto Camino, the band seeks to remain faithful to the basic principles of reggae, promoting positive themes such as freedom of speech, personal growing and human appreciation towards their natural environment. The main idea was the representation of music unified with the environment, rooted in the genre of reggae roots.

Proyecto universitario basado en el segundo álbum de la banda de reggae guatemalteco Iguanamanga. En dicho álbum denominado Imprevisto Camino, la banda busca mantenerse fiel a los principios básicos del reggae, promoviendo temas positivos como la libertad de expresión, la superación personal y el aprecio del ser humano hacia su entorno natural. La idea principal consiste en la representación de la música unida con el medio ambiente, arraigándose a las raíces del género, el reggae roots.

This is my collaboration for the Gráfica Escrita project, managed by my talented mate Luis Pinto. The project will promote the union between the art of writing and illustration.

College project made in collaboration with Ricardo Ascoli and Sergio Arroyo, in which we had to illustrate the commemoration of the 50 years of the Universidad Rafael Landívar. Also, we had to choose a quote of an historical figure, so it could work as a complementary concept. The chosen quote was “there is no genius without a gram of madness” by the great greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle.

Proyecto universitario realizado en colaboración con Ricardo Ascoli y Sergio Arroyo, en el que debiamos ilustrar la conmemoración de los 50 años de la Universidad Rafael Landívar. Para este proyecto debiamos elegir una frase de algún personaje histórico que funcionara como concepto complementario. En este caso, la frase o cita elegida fue la de “no hay genio sin un gramo de locura”, del gran filósofo y científico griego Aristóteles.
